President Bush is allowing a UAE company (Dubai Ports) to take control of six major US sea ports as part of the Dubai company´s acquisition of UK shipping company P&O.
Dubai Ports are an established and successful port management company and hail from the relatively western-friendly United Arab Emirates. Many US sea ports have long been privatised. The Bush family have long had business dealings with Arab families and companies, selling weapons and such like, so there is an established precedent for mutually advantageous partnerships between western nations and oil-rich Gulf states.
The problem is that they are clearly terrorists. We know this because (a) they are Arabs, (b) they are Moslems, and (c) they wear turbans sometimes, like Osama bin Laden. Perhaps the reason Bush is allowing the deal to go through is to ship them to Guantanamo as soon they touch down on proud American soil.
It makes me laugh. What a load of bigotted racist tosh, just because they´re Arabs we can´t trust them? Give me a break. On this issue, I support Bush in seeing beyond the race and nationality of Dubai Ports and allowing positive commerical relationships to exist between the US and those generally peaceful and positive Arab states such as the UAE.
